This class will weave teaching methods based on the limbs of yoga and the kosha model. These models lay the foundation of understanding the importance of sizing up your students as they enter the classroom to provide a practice that makes sense to what they want and need. Working within the framework of yoga traditions with an emphasis on health and wellness learn to sequence a class, use verbal cues, and looking at adjustments vs/ assistance. 3 CEU's

Teaching can be fun and rewarding. In this dynamic foundations of teaching workshop learn to refine and hone your teaching style and skills. Review, discuss and learn the business of teaching, what you need to know about students abilities, improve sequening of a class, and how to provide safe adjustments with verbal cues. Learn to modify postures and teach variations of postures. 3 CEU's

Learn, discuss, and practice the differences between relaxation and meditation using breathing practices (pranayama) and the 5 step approach to mediation. What are the best ways to practice and what is required to teach meditation in the classroom. Still the mind into a state of inner awareness and intentional detachment from random thoughts Learn the how’s and why’s and if it was easy everyone would be doing it. 3 CEU's

How does one teach to a variety of ages and issues? Classes are alls levels even when we state beginner, intermediate, or advanced. Students come to their mat with their own bagage and issues. Whether a student is 20 or 60 years of age (or beyond) a yoga teacher is expected to provide a great class. Explore the multi aged class and issues that present in the classroom and discuss how yoga practice changes within each decade of life. 3 CEU's
By appointment only with certified yoga therapist Pamela Grubb. Yoga therapy is the adaptation of yoga practices for people with health challenges. Yoga therapists prescribe specific regimens of postures, breathing exercises, and relaxation techniques to suit individual needs.
Your first appointment is a 90 minute assessment, evaluation, and discussion of strengths and weaknesses. Appropriate techniques to reach desired goals and outcome will be addressed.
Following your first appointment, weekly, bi-weekly or monthly one-hour visits will be scheduled. A personal routine will be designed to improve overall health and well-being.
One-on-one sessions are wonderful for those who may be intimidated by a class, who want personalized instruction, or have a specific condition. During this time you learn about your body and how the body compensates for injury, tightness, or day-to-day living. Private sessions may be of interest to those with health concerns such as asthma, allergies, back issues, cancer, or other health related aliments.
By appointment only with certified yoga therapist Pamela Grubb. Wellness Coaching looks at you as a whole, your daily life, your eating and sleeping habits and your environment. Coaching on daily habits, mental health, relationship building and working on a better you helps clients to overcome their challenges and gain independence. The therapist's role is to empower clients to take a more active role in their self-care.
Your first appointment is a 90 minute assessment and evaluation using the 7 dimensions of wellness of your mind, physical concerns, social, cultural, environmental, occupational, spiritual, and emotional well being.

Support sessions focus on the 7 dimensions of wellness which may include discussion of energy levels, sleep patterns, stressors, medical concerns, diet/nutrition and breathing. Sessions encourage looking at emotional reactions to life’s events around home-life, work and community and their effect on well-being.
