Yoga Therapy

Yoga Therapy & What to Expect

Yoga therapy is the adaptation of yoga practices for people with health  challenges. Yoga therapists prescribe specific regimens of postures,  breathing exercises, and relaxation techniques to suit individual needs.  


Medical research shows that Yoga therapy is among the most effective complementary therapies for many conditions. 


As a yoga therapists I prescribe specific regimens of postures, breathing exercises, relaxation, and meditation techniques to suit the individual’s needs.


Your first appointment is a 90 minute assessment, evaluation, and discussion of strengths and weaknesses. Appropriate techniques to reach desired goals and outcome will be addressed. 


Following your first appointment, weekly, bi-weekly or monthly one-hour visits will be scheduled. A personal routine will be designed to improve overall health and wellbeing.


One-on-one sessions are wonderful for those who may be intimidated by a class, who want personalized instruction, or  have a specific condition. During this time you learn about your body  and how the body compensates for injury, tightness, or day-to-day  living. Private sessions may be of interest to those with health  concerns such as asthma, allergies, back issues, cancer, or other health  related aliments.
